Allergen Labeling

As with all health and safety related issues, we take food allergy concerns very seriously and strictly adhere to all Federal labeling guidelines. You can be assured that if any of the "Top 8" allergens (milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, wheat and soy) are present in our products they will be clearly labeled in familiar terms in our ingredient statements. If you have an allergy or sensitivity to an ingredient which is not included on the "Top 8" list please contact us and we will confirm if the ingredient is used in our product. Because product formulas do change occasionally, it is important to review the ingredient statement before purchasing.

Use by Date

The "use by" date indicates how long the sealed product will remain at optimal quality under proper refrigeration. We recommend you use the sealed, refrigerated product within one week of the date indicated on the package. Once opened, you should consume the product within 3 days.

Cooking Methods

Surimi seafood is pre-cooked and ready to eat, making it convenient and ready to use in any recipe calling for shellfish. It can be served cold right from the package or enjoyed warm and just needs to be heated through before serving.

Stovetop:
Place unopened package in a large sauce pan of boiling water. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, turning package over halfway through heating. Remove package from water. Cut film to open.

Microwave:
Remove from package and place pieces in a circle around the outer edge of a microwave-safe plate. Cover with plastic wrap and heat on high 1-1/2 to 2 minutes, or until heated through, depending on your microwave's power and efficiency.

Storage and Handling

While our pasteurized surimi seafood products receive a heat treatment designed to destroy bacteria, we recommend that you keep your refrigerator as cold as practical during storage.

We believe the quality of the product is far superior if it is kept in the refrigerator, however, it can be frozen. Freezing and thawing this product may cause changes in the texture and some liquid may be present in the package after thawing. When you are ready to use the product, it should be thawed in the refrigerator for approximately 12 hours before use. Once thawed the surimi seafood should be consumed within 3 days.

If you have accidentally left the product out at room temperature for more than 2 hours, do not use the product and discard it.
